About
Fernbox started as a group chat between three friends who kept sending each other screenshots of weird little games nobody else was covering. At some point the chat got too long, so we turned it into a site. That's the whole origin story, no funding round, no grand mission statement.,What we do is simple: we play mobile games across every genre we can stomach, from tiny puzzlers to ambitious role-playing experiments, and we write about the ones that make us feel something. Sometimes that feeling is delight, sometimes it's frustration, and we try to be clear about which is which.,We don't cover a game just because it's trending. A title makes it onto the site when at least two editors have put real hours into it and have something to say that goes past 'it's fun.' We care about controls, pacing, and whether a game respects your time.,The site runs small on purpose. Fewer reviews, more care per review. If we're quiet for a week it usually means we're stuck on a boss or lost in a sandbox, and that's exactly the kind of problem we want to have.
Lukas Vogel — Lukas has been playing games on phones since they had physical keypads and now spends most evenings testing whatever just launched. He handles the final edit on every review.
